Tawny is 16-months old and looking for her furever plus a playmate!
She has seamlessly integrated into her foster family alongside their beloved 9-year-old chiweenie whom she adores. One of Tawny’s most endearing qualities is her lack of aggression towards anything, be it food, chew bones, other animals, or treats. She finds immense joy in squeaky toys and relishes the challenge of ripping them apart. It has become a delightful game for me to find toys that keep her engaged for longer periods.
While we focus on training, particularly her recall and curbing her habit of scratching at doors when left alone due to separation anxiety, we’ve marveled at her intelligence and quick learning. Tawny’s previous abandonment has understandably left her with some anxieties, but she’s making remarkable progress in building confidence and learning new skills.
Another aspect we’re working on is her tendency to pee and poop indoors, although she thankfully uses a pee pad. She would do best in a home with a doggy door as she’s being fostered in an apt.
Her perfect forever home for her would be one with a yard and someone dedicated to showering her with love and guidance. Her vibrant personality and ability to bring laughter into her home will bring immense happiness to her future adopter. She does great on car rides, walks, fetch etc. If you have a lonely young pup who needs a playmate Tawny would make a great addition.
